In the fall of 2018 I was able to work on an Inspirational Message (formerly known as Mormon Messages). Hearing the stories from those who experienced the floods in Houston really motivated me to get our 72 hour kit together, even while 8 months pregnant.
I've always had the mental hurdle of trying to decide what essentials are really essential for emergency preparedness and this video helped me think through a scenario. Even if I don't live in a flood zone, every area is at risk for a big natural disaster at some point.
This story emerged from footage taken by the Church of Jesus Christ's effort to document how their humanitarian efforts worked during the flood. My challenge was to edit together this story, which the director knew had potential, but hadn't quite gotten there after a few previous edits.
