The Red Headed Hostess

I was contacted by The Red Headed Hostess a little while ago about making a video for their Mother/Daughter Pass Back-and-Forth Journal.  The journal was a collaboration between Shannon Foster, of Red Headed Hostess, and LDS singer Hillary Weeks.  So we came up with this cute idea of showing how the journal could be used between a mom and daughter.  I haven't shot my own stuff for a while so it was fun to be involved in the production side again.

A few months later they asked for a video to illustrate how their Book of Mormon Study Guide is used.  At their suggestion, I used the study guide myself and came up with this idea, building upon the style we'd already created.  I used my limited network in Oregon (we're still pretty new here) and found some people to be hand actors, then set to work.  It felt good after a couple months of not really working to take a video from concept to production and final product.  The client was pleased and so was I.

Education Videos

Here is a video I edited that played part in a series of videos Sutherland Institute used to show the different ways Flexible Savings Accounts can be used to help children get an education that meets their needs.

Bears Ears

In the summer and fall of 2016 I freelanced for Sutherland Institute, editing a series of videos for their campaign against the designation of a national monument in San Juan County.  The following were the vignette-type videos they released in hopes of educating the public about the impact a national monument would have on the locals in San Juan County.

Mormon Messages

I started working for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the fall of 2013.  I was pregnant with my first child and it ended up being a really great job for me as a working mom.  I was able to work in a great environment with great people, making videos that I felt were significant.  Plus, I had the convenience of being an on-call editor which meant I could take on the workload I felt comfortable with and could slip in and work odd hours.

I've since moved from Utah and realized I haven't kept track of any of the videos I worked on.  These are the two Mormon Messages I worked on as the editor.

Many others are not posted online or through Youtube, but I'll work on adding them here to fill in the 3-year gap I have on my blog/portfolio!
